1 May 2008 | Announcing the South Wales Chartist Network

Democracy, freedom of speech and the press were inextricably linked for the Chartist reformers of the nineteenth century.

It's therefore appropriate that we take advantage of the Web and new online resources to begin building our South Wales Chartist Network!

Join in the conversation on democracy, history and heritage!

Online resources

We commence with the three pilot local Chartist groups ofchartist.newport, chartist.blainachartist.merthyr; hence comprising an appropriate geographical triangle to begin placing the Chartist history and heritage of South Wales on the map!
